Marsupilami returns to cinema in new family adventure film

The legendary comic character Marsupilami is returning to the big screen in a new family adventure film directed by Philippe Lacheau. The film follows David Ticoule, a zoo employee, who is tasked by his boss, played by Jean Reno, to retrieve a mysterious package from the fictional South American land of Palumbia and bring it safely to France.

The mission leads David, his ex-wife, and his son on a cruise ship, where the rare creature—known for its long tail and distinctive yellow and black markings—becomes central to a wild series of events involving mercenaries and a rescue mission. The character was originally created by André Franquin in 1952 for the 'Spirou et Fantasio' series.

The film has seen significant success at the French box office, approaching the milestone of six million viewers within seven weeks of its release.
