Martı founder introduces Robomartı and calls for taxi driver cooperation

Martı founder Oğuz Alper Öktem has announced two major developments for the ride-sharing platform. Following a court decision regarding Martı TAG, Öktem issued a peace call to taxi drivers, inviting them to join the Martı platform to work without paying commissions. To encourage participation, he announced that he will gift his own car to the taxi driver with the most trips over the next six months, and his vehicle nicknamed ‘Karaoğlan’ to the most regular driver.

Following this call, 19,461 taxi drivers in Turkey have applied to work on the Martı platform.

Simultaneously, Öktem introduced ‘Robomartı,’ a driverless vehicle developed by Martı engineers. The autonomous vehicle is designed to be summoned via an app to transport passengers to specific locations. While footage shows the green vehicle operating its automatic doors and moving, specific technical details regarding its autonomous driving level, safety infrastructure, and service scope have not yet been finalized. The project faces upcoming questions regarding its implementation within Istanbul's complex traffic conditions and necessary legal regulations.
