Martí Gironell presents ‘Malaveïna’ in Palafrugell

Author Martí Gironell will present his new novel, ‘Malaveïna’, at the Palafrugell Library on Saturday, October 17. The book is set in the Empordà region and explores themes of local legends, traditional herbal knowledge, and the history of the Peralada Castle gardens.

The narrative focuses on the figure of Malaveïna, a woman skilled in the medicinal uses of plants and roots, navigating a society that often views such knowledge through the lens of witchcraft. The presentation will include a wine tasting from a Garriguella estate to connect the literary themes with local viticulture.
