Marta Fort discusses health struggles and family loss

Marta Fort, daughter of the late Argentine businessman Ricardo Fort, has shared personal reflections regarding her health, family trauma, and physical identity during an appearance on the Telefe program ‘PH, Podemos Hablar’.

Fort revealed that she will undergo complex spinal surgery in Minnesota to correct double-curve scoliosis. The condition is a result of hemiparesia, a neurological issue she has managed since childhood following a period of oxygen deprivation in her brain. The upcoming procedure will require three months of total spinal immobilization.

During the interview, Fort also spoke emotionally about the death of her godfather and former step-father, Gustavo Martínez, who died by suicide in February 2022 while battling Alzheimer’s. She described the loss as more devastating than the death of her father, noting that Martínez was a primary source of affection and support during her youth.

Additionally, Fort discussed her physical appearance, admitting that she has undergone aesthetic changes—such as hair color and cosmetic procedures—that align with the tastes of her father, despite having previously rejected them. She described herself as “the result of what I swore to destroy,” noting that these changes serve as a way to honor his memory.
