Marta Kos faces criticism over potential meeting with Andrija Mandić

Emir Suljagić, Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center Potočari, has criticized European Commissioner Marta Kos regarding reports of a potential meeting with Andrija Mandić, the President of the Parliament of Montenegro.

Suljagić claims that such a meeting could potentially assist Mandić in avoiding removal from his position. The Montenegrin Parliament is scheduled to vote on Mandić’s dismissal on September 24. This proposed removal follows a telegram Mandić sent to the family of Ratko Mladić, which was criticized for glorifying the individual convicted of genocide.

Suljagić highlighted a perceived contradiction in Commissioner Kos’s stance, noting her previous statement that she could not look the mothers of Srebrenica in the eye if she visited Belgrade during the funeral ceremonies for Mladić. He argued that if the reported meeting with Mandić takes place, Kos must explain how it aligns with her previous commitments regarding the victims of Srebrenica.
