Marta Kubišová hospitalized following heat-related illness
Czech singer Marta Kubišová was recently hospitalized due to health issues reportedly caused by summer heat. She was treated by her physician, Dr. Petr Neužil, at Na Homolce Hospital. Following the incident, Kubišová had to cancel several scheduled media appearances and events commemorating the August 1968 events. Her daughter, Kateřina, confirmed that the singer has since returned home and is recovering outside of Prague.
In separate context regarding her long-term welfare, Kubišová has previously spoken about the low amount of her retirement pension. Having been banned from performing for twenty years during the communist era, she noted that her initial pension in 2003 was only 8,146 CZK, a figure she found shocking. She has maintained that she focused on working to support herself rather than engaging in legal disputes over pension amounts.
