Marta Kubišová mourns loss of beloved dog Brilinka

Czech singer Marta Kubišová, 83, announced the death of her ten‑year‑old Yorkshire Terrier Brilinka. The dog began to struggle for breath during a heat wave, and despite being taken to a veterinarian, she could not be saved and was euthanised. Kubišová explained that Brilinka suffered from a congenital heart defect that caused fluid buildup in the chest. The singer also recently lost two cats, leaving her home empty. She said she will not acquire new pets, noting her age – she will turn 84 – and expressed sorrow at being alone for the first time in decades.

Kubišová said, “I am completely alone now,” and added, “I will not get another dog or cat; I am too old to care for them.”
