Marta Minujín to receive National Culture Emeritus distinction in Argentina

Argentine artist Marta Minujín will be honored as a "Personalidad Emérita de la Cultura de la Nación" (Emeritus Personality of the Nation's Culture) on Thursday, August 13. The award, presented by the National Secretariat of Culture, recognizes her exceptional contribution to the country's cultural heritage.

The ceremony will take place at the Cúpula del Palacio Libertad. Minujín, a pioneer of pop art, happenings, and massive installations, will participate in a dialogue with Secretary Leonardo Cifelli regarding her career, which spans over six decades of experimentation and public participation.

Minujín's influential career includes works exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum, Centre Pompidou, and Tate Modern. Notable milestones include her early happenings in Paris and New York, the creation of "La Menesunda" in 1965, and her large-scale installations such as the 30-meter obelisk covered in dulce de leche in 1979.
