Marta Pezzati, activist and Como Accoglie president, dies

Marta Pezzati, a prominent human rights activist and longtime president of the association Como Accoglie, has passed away. She dedicated much of her life to supporting vulnerable populations and migrants in the Como region.

As a central figure in Como Accoglie, which was established in 2016 during the migrant emergency at the Como San Giovanni station, Pezzati led various initiatives including emergency relief at the Val Mulini parking garage and the promotion of social housing projects. Her work focused on providing shelter and fostering autonomy for those in need through distributed reception models and community support networks.
