Marta Sanna painting show and Garibaldi commemoration spotlight regional Italian heritage
A personal exhibition of painter Marta Sanna opened at the Museo Luigi Pirisinu‑Casa Franco in Monti, Sardinia, as part of the Sagra del Vermentino and the Fiera del Miele Amaro. The show, promoted by the cultural association Erentzia under the “Monti in Arte” project, features the artist’s colourful depictions of Sardinian landscapes, marine scenes, traditional costumes and figures, reflecting her lifelong training in graphic and scenographic arts.
In Liguria, the Festa dell’emigrante on 9 August in the village of Le Grazie, Porto Venerese, honoured Giuseppe Garibaldi. The event, organised by the Pro Loco delle Grazie and the Cantiere della Memoria, included a painting exhibition created by 36 students of the Soloarte school, interpreting Garibaldi’s maritime and military legacy. Historian Davide Gnola presented the lesser‑known aspects of Garibaldi’s life as a sailor, linking the artworks to the town’s historic ties with the hero.
