Laura Dahlmeier to be inducted into German Hall of Fame of Sports

The German Hall of Fame of Sports will posthumously induct biathlon legend Laura Dahlmeier. The announcement was made by the Deutsche Sporthilfe, alongside three other prominent athletes: gymnast Fabian Hambüchen, swimmer Britta Steffen, and alpine skier Felix Neureuther.

Dahlmeier, a two-time Olympic champion and seven-time world champion, died at age 31 following a tragic mountaineering accident at Laila Peak in Pakistan in July 2025. Her former teammate and friend, Maren Hammerschmidt, will present the honor, describing Dahlmeier as an “exceptional personality” who remained grounded and true to herself.

The official induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 26 in Frankfurt am Main.
