Martha Argerich to open George Enescu Philharmonic season

Pianist Martha Argerich will open the George Enescu Philharmonic's chamber music season alongside mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozena and pianist Iddo Bar-Shai. The performance features works by Debussy, Ravel, Schubert, and Schumann.

The 2026-2027 symphonic season is scheduled to begin on October 1 and 2. These concerts will be conducted by Mikhail Pletnev and will feature Argerich as a soloist performing Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3. The program also includes an expanded version of George Enescu's symphonic poem 'Isis' with the Philharmonic's Women's Choir, and a Romanian premiere of Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake Suite' in an arrangement by Pletnev.
