Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra family files $50M lawsuit over yacht death

The family of Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra, a 33-year-old Irish fashion designer and founder of East x East, has filed a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against Christopher Durnan. The legal action, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleges that Durnan intentionally and wrongfully assaulted Nolan-O’Slatarra, and further accuses him of gross negligence and reckless conduct.

Nolan-O’Slatarra was found dead on August 5, 2025, aboard Durnan’s yacht, Ripple, which was docked at the Montauk Yacht Club in the Hamptons. While the Suffolk County Police Department previously stated that an autopsy showed no evidence of violence, new details from a paramedics’ report indicate that the victim’s body had dried blood on her mouth, chest, and head, and was cold to the touch upon arrival.

Durnan, who has not been charged with any crimes, was reportedly the last person to see her alive. A paramedics’ report noted the presence of an unidentified male at the scene who claimed to have been in bed with the victim. The official cause of death remains pending from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
