Martha Stewart recounts final conversation with JFK Jr. before 1999 plane crash
During the season 16 premiere of ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’, Martha Stewart recounted her final conversation with John F. Kennedy Jr. prior to his fatal plane crash in 1999.
Stewart explained that she met with Kennedy Jr. on the Monday before his death to discuss his political-lifestyle magazine, George. During their dinner, Stewart asked about his weekend plans, and Kennedy Jr. mentioned he would be flying his wife, Carolyn Bessette, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, to a wedding in Martha's Vineyard.
Stewart recalled suggesting that he should have a co-pilot for the trip, but Kennedy Jr. responded that he did not need one. Stewart noted that she has frequently thought about that warning in the years since the crash.
