Boyacá athletes and Spanish clubs secure multiple sporting victories
Several regional and international sporting achievements have been recorded involving athletes from Boyacá and Spanish clubs.
In cycling, Brayan Molano of the EBSA team secured the overall championship at the fifth edition of the Clásica de Siachoque. The competition, held between September 4 and 6, 2026, featured challenging mountain terrain and technical descents. Juan Pablo Sossa won the final stage in Tunja.
In martial arts, Colombian judokas Edwin Gómez Cabanzo and Gerardo Andrés Restrepo Quiroga earned two silver medals at the European Judo Union (EJU) Kata Tournament in Madrid, Spain. They achieved podium finishes in both the Nage-no-Kata and Katame-no-Kata categories.
Additionally, the El Ambar Team achieved second place in the team classification at the Grand Slam León | D-BJJ 2026 in Spain. The club's delegation earned a total of six gold, three silver, and one bronze medal, with individual successes from Ángel Herrero, José Díez Navarro, Othman Nbigua, and Jairo Martín Leal.
In local festivities, the Descenso Internacional do Sil in Valdeorras, Spain, concluded with an awards ceremony celebrating both international athletes and participants in the popular descent, which featured various costumes and themed boats.
