Martial arts film classics announced for Blu-ray release

Several distributors are releasing classic martial arts films on Blu-ray. Film Art has announced that in September 2026, it will release two Shaw Brothers classics directed by Chang Cheh: ‘The Blood Brothers of the Yellow Dragon’ and ‘The Pirate of Shantung’. These uncut editions will be limited to only 200 copies each.

Additionally, 88 Films and MVD Entertainment are making three martial arts titles available in August. These include ‘The Tournament’ (1974), directed by Huang Feng and featuring action arranged by Sammo Hung, as well as ‘Stoner’ (1974) and ‘Operation Scorpio’. ‘The Tournament’ follows a kung fu master's children as they attempt to restore their family reputation in Thailand.
