Martin Bonev Wins Junior Singles Title at World Tennis Tour Event in Sofia

Seventeen‑year‑old Martin Bonev of Dimitargrad captured the J30 junior singles crown at the World Tennis Tour Juniors tournament held on the courts of TK Dema in Sofia. He led 4‑1 in the first set before opponent Damyan Avramovski retired, securing Bonev’s 12th consecutive junior title after a win the previous week at TK Diana.

Bulgarian players featured prominently throughout the event: Yakub Yasin finished third in the boys’ singles, while Simona Popova placed third among the girls. In the girls’ final, Ukraine’s Anna Bashkatova defeated Montenegro’s Nadiya Knežević 6‑0, 6‑1. The boys’ doubles title was claimed by the Swiss pair Lucas Mjålen and Sandro Weber, and the girls’ doubles went to Bulgarians Sirma Mancheva and Antonia Staneva.

The tournament was organized by the Bulgarian Tennis Federation and highlighted the depth of Bulgaria’s junior tennis talent.
