Martin Kuba appointed to Budějovický Budvar supervisory board

Martin Kuba, the Governor of the South Bohemian Region and leader of the Naše Česko movement, has been appointed to the supervisory board of the state-owned brewery Budějovický Budvar. The appointment was made by Minister of Agriculture Martin Šebestyán.

Kuba stated that his nomination is linked to his position as Governor, noting that the state enterprise is located within the South Bohemian Region and faces significant upcoming investments, such as the expansion of a visitor center. He emphasized the importance of coordination between the region and the city of České Budějovice for these projects. Historically, South Bohemian governors have not held seats on the Budvar supervisory board.

The board's composition has changed with the departure of Jan Kočí and Miroslav Nosek. New members include Kuba, Jan Volný (ANO), and Dan Chromec (SPD). Last year, Budějovický Budvar reached a record production of 1.945 million hectoliters, with over 70 percent of its output exported abroad, despite a slight decrease in annual profit to 356.3 million CZK.
