Martin Lawrence returns as Martin Payne in Paramount+ spinoff 'The Varnell Hill Show

Martin Lawrence will reprise his iconic role as Martin Payne in a recurring capacity on the new Paramount+ series "The Varnell Hill Show," a spinoff of the 1990s sitcom "Martin." He also serves as an executive producer and co‑creator of the half‑hour multi‑camera workplace comedy that follows Tommy Davidson’s flamboyant late‑night host Varnell Hill as he tries to stay relevant in a changing television landscape.

The series, which debuted on September 1, consists of eight episodes, with the first two released on launch day and subsequent episodes airing weekly through October 13. In addition to Lawrence and Davidson, the cast includes Kym Whitley, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Neil Brown Jr., Mina Quarterman, Tim Chantarangsu and guest stars such as Mike Epps, Deon Cole, Omarion, Ms. Pat and Damon Wayans. Production is led by Bentley Kyle Evans, who co‑created the show with Lawrence, and is produced by Bentley Evans Productions, Jesse Collins Entertainment and Lawrence’s Runteldat Entertainment.
