Martin Lewis alerts UK on hidden pensions and phone scams

Martin Lewis warned pension savers that changing jobs can leave multiple, forgotten pension pots. He urged people to use the Government's Pension Tracing Service or the fintech firm Gretel to locate old schemes and said consolidation can be useful but should be discussed with the free‑advice service Pension Wise. He emphasized, "If you've had lots of different jobs, you will have lots of different pensions. You absolutely do need to keep track of it."

He also recounted a recent phone scam in which he received a WhatsApp call claiming to be from Amazon about a new iPhone. The caller pressured him to send a six‑digit code, but Lewis recognised the number as a known Amazon scam and avoided providing details. He warned that "anyone can be caught out" and advised using built‑in phone filters, carrier‑level AI protection, and manual blocking of unknown numbers.
