Martin Scorsese joins psychological horror film Trees Are Watching

Martin Scorsese has joined the psychological horror film ‘Trees Are Watching’ as an executive producer. Directed by Bahman Ghobadi, the film stars Eva Green as a novelist who returns to her hometown with her daughter, only to be haunted by memories of twin girls and memorial trees from her childhood.

The project is scheduled to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. This marks a reunion for Scorsese and Ghobadi, who previously collaborated in 2012 when Scorsese presented Ghobadi’s ‘Rhino Season’ at the same festival.

Separately, Scorsese is working on ‘What Happens at Night,’ an Apple Original Film directed by the filmmaker and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. The gothic psychological horror, based on a novel by Peter Cameron, follows a couple traveling to a European city to adopt a child while facing personal hardships.
