Martin Scorsese to executive produce Paul Schrader film

Martin Scorsese is set to reunite with longtime collaborator Paul Schrader as an executive producer for Schrader’s upcoming film, ‘The Basics of Philosophy’. The project, which is written and directed by Schrader, is scheduled to launch at the Venice Film Festival.

‘The Basics of Philosophy’ is a drama following a philosophy professor struggling with guilt after a victim from his past unexpectedly returns. The film stars Jack Huston as Dr. John Jorrisen, alongside Sofia Boutella, Bill Pullman, and Dana Delany. Noora Films will handle international sales for the production.
