Martin Scorsese's interest in Hammer Films revealed

A decades-old interest in horror filmmaking by Martin Scorsese may yet come to fruition. John Gore, the current owner of Hammer Films, revealed that the director sent a letter to the British studio in the 1990s expressing a desire to make a Hammer film, though the studio did not respond at the time.

Gore discussed the matter while outlining plans to remake classic Hammer productions, such as ‘The Curse of Frankenstein’ and ‘The Mummy’. Additionally, a 4K restoration of the 1958 film ‘Dracula’ is scheduled for theatrical release in the United Kingdom this week, followed by a release in the United States later this month after a premiere at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.
