Martina Alzini wins Giro della Toscana stage and takes pink jersey

Martina Alzini of the Cofidis Women Team won the second stage of the Giro della Toscana, a 113 km route from Serravalle Pistoiese to Quarrata. Alzini secured the victory with a sprint finish, finishing ahead of teammate Nadia Quagliotto and Slovenia’s Nika Bobnar.

Through time bonuses earned during the stage and at the “Traguardo Michela” intermediate sprint, Alzini has taken the lead in the general classification. She currently holds a two-second advantage over the previous leader, Lonneker Uneken.

The stage featured an early breakaway of five riders, including several Italians, which was caught by the sprinters' group approximately 20 to 40 kilometers from the finish. Eleonora La Bella of Aromitalia Vaiano secured the first mountain classification prize, earning the green jersey.
