The victory marks a historic milestone for the Spanish duo. At 18 years, 1 month, and 4 days old, Martina Calvo becomes the youngest player to win a professional tournament, breaking the previous record held by Andrea Ustero. Additionally, the pair set a new record for the youngest combined age to win a title, totaling 38 years, 6 months, and 21 days.
Their path to the championship included a semifinal victory over the world number two pair, Bea González and Paula Josemaría. This win comes just one week after the pair reached the final in Pretoria, South Africa, where they were also defeated by Triay and Brea.
