Pallacanestro Monza partners with Fondazione Maria Letizia Verga
Pallacanestro Monza has announced a partnership with the Fondazione Maria Letizia Verga, naming the foundation its Charity Partner. This collaboration aims to link professional sports with research and the treatment of children and adolescents suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, and other serious pediatric pathologies.
As part of the initiative, players will wear the lyrics of the song “Fieri di Noi – United For Children” on their uniforms. The song was written and performed by adolescents receiving care at the Maria Letizia Verga Center. The partnership supports the “Sport Therapy” project, an innovative multidisciplinary model that integrates adapted physical activity into the clinical treatment process to improve physical and psychological well-being.
In other Italian sports news, the men’s national volleyball team secured a 3-0 victory against Sweden in their European Championship opener in Naples. Additionally, the women’s volleyball club VBC Caldaie Melgari has launched its 2026-2027 season subscription campaign. The club is introducing affordable ticket and season pass pricing to encourage attendance as they return to the PalaRadi in Cremona.
