Martina Gießübel takes patronage of Malteser child grief group in Schweinfurt

State parliament member Martina Gießübel has assumed the patronage of the Malteser Hospizdienst grief group for children and adolescents in the Schweinfurt region of Germany. The group, founded in 2021, offers regular meetings, individual counseling and family support to youngsters aged roughly six to fifteen who have lost a close person. Sessions are held every six weeks in the youth centre “Am Gadenbau” in Grafenrheinfeld, with the municipality providing the premises.

Gießübel highlighted the need to raise awareness of the service, noting that 26 children have been supported over the past five years and that families across Schweinfurt, the Haßberge district and the Bad Kissingen area benefit from the programme. She emphasized that no child should have to grieve alone and pledged to promote the offering more widely.
