Martina Preissová reflects on the loss of her father

Czech actress Martina Preissová has shared personal reflections regarding the death of her father, who passed away from cancer thirty years ago. Preissová recalled the profound silence she encountered upon returning home to find him gone, noting how the loss deeply affected her mother.

She highlighted a significant final moment when her father, despite being in a terminal stage of illness, attended her professional theater premiere in Brno. Preissová described this as a massive sacrifice on his part, as he wanted to ensure he saw her perform at least once.

To process her grief, Preissová turned to writing, eventually publishing a book titled ‘Tvá M’. The work consists of fictional letters addressed to her late father, serving as a therapeutic way to navigate the enduring impact of his absence.
