Martina Tomić to tour dance performance in Dalmatia

Martina Tomić is launching a summer tour of her new dance performance, ‘Don’t carry the world upon your shoulders’, which explores the theme of overthinking through movement and performance lecture.

The production will be staged in three Dalmatian cities. It will be performed in Zadar on August 20 as part of the Monoplay festival, in Dubrovnik at the Art radionica Lazareti on August 25, and in Split at the Dom mladih on August 26. While tickets are required for the Zadar performance, entry is free for the shows in Dubrovnik and Split.

The performance utilizes a scientific and poetic approach to overthinking, investigating the translation of the concept into the Croatian language and the translation of thought into physical movement. The work references Shakespeare’s Hamlet as a starting point for exploring the duality of overthinking between mental blockade and a superpower.
