Martinengo: Fire breaks out in Famila supermarket parking lot

A fire broke out in the underground parking lot of a Famila supermarket in the 'Le Maschere' area of Martinengo on Monday afternoon, October 5. Passersby reported a thick column of black smoke and a strong burning odor around 6:30 PM.

Firefighters from Romano di Lombardia and Bergamo responded to the scene, forcing entry through closed access doors to reach a pile of waste that had ignited. The fire was quickly brought under control. Local authorities, including the Carabinieri and local police, attended the scene, as did the Mayor of Martinengo, Pasquale Busetti.

Mayor Busetti emphasized the need to remove accumulated waste from the parking area and access stairs. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
