Martinique high school students meet with authorities amid strike threats

High school student representatives in Martinique met with educational and territorial authorities at the Collectivité territoriale de Martinique (CTM) to discuss ongoing grievances. The meeting included the rector and Serge Letchimy, president of the CTM executive council.

The students are seeking concrete commitments regarding daily difficulties in several schools, including issues with student reception, learning conditions, and material resources. Following weeks of mobilization, including a demonstration in Fort-de-France, students have indicated they may proceed with further strike days if their demands for identifiable measures and a clear timeline for improvements are not met.
