Martinique launches free public transport for RSA beneficiaries

The Collectivité territoriale de Martinique (CTM) and Martinique Transport have signed an agreement to launch ‘Mobil’Accès Transport’, an experimental program providing free public transportation to approximately 3,700 beneficiaries of the Revenu de Solidarité Active (RSA).

The initiative targets individuals engaged in social and professional integration programs. Participants will receive a personal card granting ten months of unlimited travel across the North, South, and Center networks, as well as maritime routes. The program aims to remove mobility barriers that hinder access to employment, training, and social services.

The experiment is valued at 7.03 million euros, with 85% of the funding provided by the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+) and 15% by the CTM. Officials will monitor usage rates and integration outcomes to determine if the program should be made permanent or expanded.
