Martins born as Vidzemes Hospital celebrates 400th newborn of 2024

On Thursday, 23 July 2024, Vidzemes Hospital’s maternity ward welcomed its 400th baby of the year. The newborn, a boy named Martins, weighed 4 460 g and measured 54 cm at birth.

His parents, Alla and Andrejs, will take the baby to their hometown of Alūksne, where a large family awaits, including brothers and sisters aged 14, 9, 18 and 24. The family praised the hospital staff, describing them as kind, professional and supportive throughout the delivery.

Medical personnel, including midwives Sanita Šatrovska and Santa Tēraudkalne and obstetricians Dr Šneiders and Dr Abramova, assisted with the mother’s and child’s care, and the hospital staff sent their best wishes for the newborn’s health.
