Big Brother Naija Season 11 sees first evictions and disciplinary strike

The Big Brother Naija Season 11 reality show, themed "Everything Is For The Taking," has recorded its first evictions and disciplinary actions. During the Sunday night live show hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Martins Iyeh and Mercedes were evicted from the competition after receiving the fewest viewer votes.

Martins, a 30-year-old visual storyteller and model, was the first housemate to leave the house. Mercedes, a 26-year-old entrepreneur and massage therapist, became the second housemate to be evicted. Following their departures, 22 contestants remain in the race for the N160 million grand prize package.

In addition to the evictions, housemate Nomy received the season's first official strike. Big Brother issued the sanction and a "last and final warning" after finding her guilty of repeatedly defying instructions. Under the show's rules, two additional strikes would result in immediate disqualification. Meanwhile, Chimsom Chuka was named the first Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW), earning immunity from the next eviction.
