Martinsville Speedway hosts post-race brawl during Late Model event

A post-race altercation occurred at Martinsville Speedway during the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 Late Model event. The conflict began following on-track contact between drivers Corey Heim and Treyten Lapcevich. After the checkered flag, the two drivers collided in turn one, resulting in significant damage to Lapcevich’s vehicle.

Following the collision, Heim was reportedly confronted by members of the Chad Bryant Racing crew near a hot dog stand in the infield. Video footage shows Heim being punched multiple times by crew members. While Lapcevich attempted to approach Heim, he was prevented from doing so by team owner Chad Bryant. Heim, a driver for 23XI Racing, reportedly returned to his hauler without sustaining major injuries.

The incident has drawn attention to the boundaries of professional conduct in racing, particularly regarding the involvement of crew members in physical confrontations.
