Martín Llaryora warns of economic limits in Córdoba
Córdoba Governor Martín Llaryora has criticized President Javier Milei’s economic adjustment program, warning that the current model has reached its limit. Llaryora argued that the lack of a complementary development plan alongside inflation-fighting measures is causing a severe recession and job losses. He noted that provincial governments have acted as buffers against the reduction of national transfers, but their financial capacity to mitigate the crisis is being exhausted.
Local data from the consultancy Videns indicates that economic concerns are overshadowing public works in the eyes of voters. According to the report, 70% of residents in Córdoba identify economic issues as their primary concern. Specifically, unemployment (18%), household debt (16.6%), and low wages (15.9%) are the leading anxieties, with employment-related fears totaling 26.2% when including the risk of job loss.
