Martín Menem admits Argentine government communication errors

Martín Menem, President of the Chamber of Deputies, has acknowledged that the Argentine government made communication errors, admitting the administration lost several public debates. Menem stated that the government could have been more “incisive or persuasive” in its messaging.

He argued that opposition sectors successfully promoted interpretations that did not align with government initiatives. Specifically, he cited discussions regarding land ownership and private property laws, noting that claims regarding foreign control of resources were not present in the actual legislative text. Menem also referenced public debates involving universities, the Garrahan Hospital, and disability rights, attributing the spread of what he called a “parallel reality” to Kirchnerism.

Regarding internal dynamics, Menem denied the existence of infighting within the administration, characterizing differences in decision-making as routine. He reaffirmed his full support for President Javier Milei and noted that the central political goal of La Libertad Avanza is securing Milei’s reelection.
