Martyna Kubka defeats Alina Czarajewa in Rovereto

Martyna Kubka secured a significant victory at the WTA 125 tournament in Rovereto, Italy, defeating the fourth seed Alina Czarajewa with a score of 6-1, 6-2. This win marks only the second time in the 25-year-old Polish player's career that she has defeated an opponent ranked within the WTA top 100.

Czarajewa, currently ranked 98th, entered the match following a major upset in Beijing where she defeated world number one Elena Rybakina. Kubka's previous top-100 victory occurred in June at a tournament in Portugal against Alina Korniewska. Following this win, Kubka advances to compete for a spot in the quarterfinals against the winner of the match between Elsa Jacquemot and Teodora Kostovic.
