Marubeni Information Systems launches Stratasys 3D printing materials for mobility
Marubeni Information Systems (MSYS) has begun offering Stratasys-made flame-retardant composite material, ‘FDM PA6/66-GF30-FR’, for 3D printers. The material is designed for use with Stratasys Fortus 450mc and F900 systems.
Targeting the mobility sector, including the railway and automotive industries, the material is intended for end-use parts and small-scale production, particularly for replacement components. The material meets European railway fire safety standards (EN 45545-2 HL2) and US automotive interior flammability standards (FMVSS 302).
By incorporating 30% glass fiber into a flame-retardant PA6/66 base polymer, the material provides higher strength and rigidity than PC-FR materials and offers better cost-performance compared to ULTEM 9085 resin. The use of 3D printing for these parts aims to reduce lead times, lower inventory costs, and increase supply chain flexibility for long-lifecycle transport equipment.
