Marubi Museum to host Venetiku photographic heritage exhibition

The Marubi National Museum of Photography in Shkodër will host an exhibition titled ‘Venetiku: Traces of a Photographic Fund,’ opening on October 16. Curated by Mikaela Minga, the exhibition explores the history of the Venetiku photographic studio in Korçë and its impact on Albanian photographic heritage.

Through archival research, the exhibition reconstructs the history of the Venetiku family, focusing on Krisanthi Venetiku, the studio’s final representative. Beyond aesthetic value, the display examines the intersection of photography and memory, including documents detailing the political persecution faced by family members during the communist regime.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Institute of Anthropology at the Academy of Sciences of Albania and the Authority for Information on Documents of the Former State Security, with financial support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport.
