Marugame Seimen to launch new spicy mixed udon in Japan

Marugame Seimen is launching a new menu item, the ‘Nikukara Mazeuudon’, at locations across Japan starting October 6. This spicy mixed udon is the first of its kind developed in collaboration with Masahiro Matsuoka, a partnership that began in 2021.

The dish features freshly made noodles topped with a special minced meat seasoned with curry powder and cayenne pepper, raw garlic, raw chives, pickled tomato, seaweed, and egg. To enhance the texture, the restaurant uses ‘kamanuki-men’, which are scooped directly from the pot.

Customers can adjust the flavor profile using a side of tomato vinegar to mellow the spiciness. The meal is designed to be finished by adding a small portion of rice to the remaining ingredients. Prices range from 890 yen for a regular size to 1,270 yen for a large portion. The product is expected to be available until late November.
