Marumiya Foods announces new furikake products and Tamagotchi collaboration

Marumiya Foods Industry Co., Ltd. has announced a series of new and renewed furikake (rice seasoning) products. Starting August 6, the company will release a limited-edition ‘Noritama’ featuring colorful chips in shapes such as chicks, flowers, and stars. Other new offerings include a bibimbap-style seasoning and seasonal varieties like chestnut rice and matsutake mushroom flavors.

Additionally, the company is expanding its ‘Mazekomi Wakame’ and ‘Mazekomi Akajiso’ lines with new flavors such as pork ginger and enhanced red shiso. Several existing products, including ‘Isoka Nori Furikake’ and ‘Soft Furikake Ume Chirimen’, are also undergoing renewals to improve flavor profiles and textures.

In a separate promotional collaboration, Marumiya will release a limited-edition ‘Tamagotchi’ themed furikake container between September 7 and December 31, 2026. The product features character-themed lids and is designed to appeal to both children and adults, celebrating the enduring popularity of the Tamagotchi brand.
