Maruti Suzuki Dzire leads India's sedan market in September 2026

India's sedan market saw a 5.3% year-on-year growth in September 2026, with total sales reaching 35,119 units compared to 33,346 units in September 2025.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire maintained its market leadership, accounting for 50.6% of the segment with 17,754 units sold, despite an 11.4% decline from the previous year. The Hyundai Aura recorded significant growth, with sales increasing by 39.8% to 7,530 units, capturing a 21.4% market share.

Other notable performers included the Honda Amaze, which saw a 25.9% increase in sales, and the newly launched Tata Aeris, which secured fourth place with 2,406 units. Conversely, established midsize models such as the Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia experienced notable sales declines.
