Maruti Suzuki Eeco reaches 1.5 million sales milestone in India

Maruti Suzuki's Eeco van has reached a cumulative sales milestone of 1.5 million units in India. Since its launch in January 2010, the vehicle's sales momentum has accelerated significantly over time.

The first 500,000 units took approximately eight years to sell, while the subsequent 500,000 units were sold in under five years. The most recent 500,000 units were sold in just 3.5 years, marking the fastest growth period for the model.

The Eeco serves a diverse range of customers, including personal and commercial users. In the 2025-2026 fiscal year, 65% of sales originated from rural markets. Additionally, approximately 55% of buyers were first-time car owners, and over 51% were business owners.

The vehicle lineup includes 13 variants, such as 5-seater and 6-seater passenger models, cargo versions, and ambulances. There has been a notable shift toward compressed natural gas (CNG) models, which rose from a 12% sales contribution in FY2019-20 to 48% in FY2025-26.
