Maruti Suzuki exports over 100,000 India-made vehicles to Japan

Maruti Suzuki has surpassed a major export milestone, with cumulative shipments of India-manufactured Fronx, Jimny 5-door, and e Vitara models to Japan exceeding 100,000 units. This achievement marks a shift in the company’s global role, as Japan has emerged as Maruti Suzuki’s second-largest export destination.

The success of these models has also positioned Suzuki as the top vehicle importer in Japan during the 2025-26 financial year. Nearly all vehicles imported by Suzuki into its home market during that period were produced by Maruti Suzuki in India.

The export expansion began with the Fronx in August 2024, followed by the Jimny 5-door in December 2024. The portfolio was further strengthened in September 2025 with the introduction of the e Vitara, Suzuki’s first battery-electric vehicle, which is produced at the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat.
