Maruti Suzuki targets 3 million annual sales with 7 new SUVs by 2031

Maruti Suzuki has announced an ambitious strategic plan in its Annual Integrated Report 2025-26, aiming to increase annual sales from the current 2 million units to 3 million units. To achieve this, the automaker intends to significantly expand its portfolio, specifically targeting the growing SUV segment by launching seven new utility vehicles or model updates by 2031.

The company’s expansion strategy includes developing a new sub-4-meter SUV to compete with the Tata Punch, as well as introducing facelifts for existing models like the Fronx and Jimny. Maruti Suzuki is also diversifying its powertrain offerings to include hybrid, electric (such as the eVitara), CNG, compressed biogas (CBG), and flex-fuel options.

Beyond vehicle production, the company plans to focus on small car growth, international exports, and increasing renewable energy capacity through solar and biogas to support cleaner technologies.
