Marvel and Kadokawa Forge Manga Alliance at San Diego Comic-Con

Marvel announced a new partnership with Japanese publisher Kadokawa during the Marvel Fanfare panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The deal will produce five original manga series featuring Marvel characters, with the first project titled **Spider‑Man of Shibuya**. Designs for other titles, including a yakuza‑styled Punisher, a Shinjuku‑based Daredevil, and an upcoming Spider‑Gwen series, were also shown.

C. B. Cebulski, who recently stepped down as Marvel’s editor‑in‑chief, will become the new Editor Asia Originals, relocating to Tokyo to oversee the collaboration. The alliance follows the recent end of Marvel’s prior partnership with Shueisha earlier this year.
