Marvel and Star Wars announce major crossover projects
Marvel and Star Wars are launching major collaborative projects across comics and toys to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Wars.
Marvel Comics will release a six-issue crossover series titled ‘Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles #1’ in January 2027. Written by Kevin Smith and illustrated by David Marquez, the plot involves a reality-altering spell that brings the Star Wars universe to Earth, allowing characters like Spider-Man and the Avengers to interact with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo. The series will also feature an alliance between antagonists Doctor Doom and Darth Vader.
In the toy sector, LEGO has announced a new LEGO Ideas competition that allows fans to design crossover sets combining Marvel and Star Wars elements. Additionally, LEGO has unveiled ‘The Marvel Skyline,’ an architectural-style set featuring iconic locations such as Avengers Tower, the X-Mansion, and the Sanctum Sanctorum, scheduled for release in early 2027.
Further publishing announcements include a Star Wars manga omnibus and a graphic novel retelling the events of ‘A New Hope’ from three different perspectives.
