Marvel Schedules Avengers: Doomsday for December 18, 2026 Release
Marvel Studios announced that the MCU crossover film "Avengers: Doomsday" will open in theaters on December 18, 2026. The movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige.
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart and many others. It brings together the Avengers, X‑Men, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, Wakandan warriors and additional heroes to face a multiversal threat posed by Doom.
At San Diego Comic‑Con 2026 Marvel used Hall H and its booth to debut the first full‑length trailer, an official poster and costume displays such as a Latverian witch figure and Captain Marvel’s emblem, prompting speculation about character returns and potential team‑ups like Steve Rogers with Gambit.
Production reports indicated the release was shifted from an original May slot to December because the film was not finished in time, placing its debut opposite the delayed "Dune: Part Three".
