Marvel Casts Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider for 2028 MCU Film

Marvel Studios announced at the San Diego Comic-Con panel that Ryan Gosling will portray Johnny Blaze, also known as Ghost Rider, in a standalone MCU film slated for release in 2028. The casting, revealed by Marvel president Kevin Feige, ends years of speculation after the actor publicly expressed interest in the role.

The project will be directed by Shawn Levy, who previously worked with Gosling on the Star Wars: Starfighter film. Levy’s involvement was secured after Gosling pitched his own vision for the character, winning over the director during development discussions. The announcement also noted that previous cinematic incarnations of Ghost Rider featured Nicolas Cage in the 2007 and 2011 films.
